When I was very, very young, my parents taught me that you were not to yak it up and disturb other folks in the library. What ever happened to this ''golden rule?'' A certain location, particularly in the public usage computer room, seems to have forgotten this dictate. Many people seem to think they're at home or out on the street, casually flapping their gums to whomever they encounter or talking on their effing cells. A few weeks back I complained about an incredibly obnoxious, loud lout who wouldn't give it a rest. I was promised that such behaviour would have the offender ''bounced.'' Don't know if this was followed up, but I am glad he hasn't been around that library since. Unfortunately, I did see him a WEEK LATER at a different branch!! He did, however, behave himself. Obviously a much nicer, far newer library with staff who still enforce the silence rule. I was told so. Great for them. Shame on the other branch. —mgp
