Here is a lesson in elevator manners: When you are waiting for an elevator, stand back a reasonable distance. When the elevator stops there may be people on that elevator wanting to exit. Leave enough room for them to comfortably leave the elevator before trying to enter the elevator. Just the same as you would on a bus, etc. It's only polite and only takes about 5 seconds of your time to do. I'm really tired to trying to get off the elevator at work and having people barge past me as I'm trying to make my quick and graceful exit. I'd have sympathy if I tended to stand at the back of the elevator and linger, but I actually do my best to exit the elevator promptly, so please do your best to allow me to exit the elevator before entering.
