Like... like... like
Could someone please explain to me how the word "like" has gotten so friggin' abused as a filler during conversation? Riding the #52 home the other night, without my MP3, I happened to listen to a loud conversation between two 20 something ladies, and overcome by boredom, started counting the number of times this word was abused. In the span of 15 minutes, 276 times! WTF?! Someone please help me understand why the person doesn't understand their flagrant abuse of this word, and how totally annoying it is to listen to! Like, you know, like, I think like I might explode like if I hear that again! Like!!! —Smiley
