We who deal with chronic dependency problems are educated about our disorders. We have spent more time and energy figuring out possible solutions to what most professionals see as intractable aspects of the condition than anyone else has the time &/or inclination for. We have to have faith in ourselves.
You, general practitioner, are in kindergarten when it comes to this. How can I work with you when you show that you have lowest view of what my ideas might be? It's clear that you don't trust me, though I've given you no reason not to. The result is a total lack of basic treatment for regular everyday things. I am becoming so averse to visits that I begin to despair of recovery. Doctors, you kill me. —slowly fading from view
