Highway Driving Etiquette

Posted on Sun, Aug 22, 2010 at 11:04 PM

Specifically to the lady with the pink tank top driving a newer grey Honda car, probably a civic, wearing sunglasses with brown hair i believe, possibly shoulder length:

This happened at the Elmsdale on ramp heading towards HRM last Saturday ...when you are driving in the slow lane and you are about to go by an on-ramp where cars are merging onto the highway and need to merge into the slow lane that you occupy, it is courteous and proper driving etiquette to check the fast lane and if you have room to MOVE THE FUCK OVER THERE!!!

...By not moving you may cause the merging vehicle to have to slow down or even stop and wait for your rude ass to mosy on by, but did you think of the potential danger you are putting the cars behind you in when the merging car tries to get on the highway from slow or no speed and trying to judge the speed of the cars that are coming??... it's not as easy as when you are driving at higher speed believe it or not... If I or anyone else is merging onto the highway and if you have room to move over you MOVE... YOU SIMPLY SHOULD NOT FUCKING BE THERE WHEN I GET TO THE SLOW LANE!!!!

...I know once in a while we forget or are boxed in or there is a fast approaching car behind you that just moved into the fast lane and to move over at that time would cause an issue for you and/or them and I suppose there is the odd on ramp that is quite short or offers less visibility from the highway (but most certainly don't fall into that category)... I get that ...but there were no other cars in sight in the fast lane and you just seemed like an oblivious type of person so my gut says you just don't have a clue and think you own the road...

So after a few immature commenters have their fun with a "get over it OP" or a "douche" or a claim that they don't have to legally move so why would they, I hope you and the other ignorant drivers read this and get a wake up call. At the very least slow down a bit or speed up to make room.—Gave you the Finger from my Chev s10
