African Americans

Posted on Sun, Aug 22, 2010 at 11:33 PM

I hear this term being used here in Halifax.

First of all, we're not Americans to begin with but more importantly not all Black people are from Africa.

Saying "African American" OR "African Canadian" seems like it's blurring the lines between nationality and race.

Can someone enlighten me as to why saying someone is "Black" is looked down upon? —Confused
