A Little Irritating

Posted on Sun, Jul 25, 2010 at 9:19 PM

This isn't so much a bitch as it is a "What is the deal?" I have a stroller I use especially for public transit - one that when folded, bends in on itself and has a shoulder strap for carrying. Each time I am waiting for the bus, I remove my baby and fold it up. When I get on the bus, I choose a single-seat spot (I can always find one because of where I get on), sit my baby on my lap and pull the stroller ALL THE WAY IN so that it's between my legs-COMPLETELY, TOTALLY out of the way of people (as are my legs; I am small), yet these people getting on after me STILL feel the need to reach out and grasp the handle as if it were part of the bus.

I'm not losing any sleep over it, just wondering why people feel the need to reach out of their way to grasp the handle all over it when it's not necessary; it's a personal belonging. If it was in your way, different story of course, but it isn't. —McVities
