More like 'Canadian Sheep' winter jacket

Why in the holy fuck is everyone wearing those over-priced three-tone Canadian goose jackets? I'm glad they're made in Canada, but not happy about the exploitation of "traditional native hunting practices," which the company claims to support. I don't even know how people stand to walk around in them in Nova Scotia; they're designed to withstand the temperatures of the Northern Arctic or Southern Antarctic, not -3 in Halifax.

Maybe in Toronto, Montreal, or Winnipeg these garments are at least somewhat functional, but I've seen people sweating while wearing those things, but no way will they take them off because then they won't get to sport their $600 indulgence and emphasize how their ridiculous and impractical purchase makes them trendy and part of the fashionable (ie. Jewish girls from Toronto) social echelon.

If people buy them to support the Canadian economy, why not buy an actual jacket whose materials are wholly made in Canada, something made out of wool or hide, for instance, available in many local craft shops or online boutiques, for half the cost, and half the commericalization of your personality. Or, buy something second-hand to reduce the output to landfills.

These jackets, much like Blundstones, lululemon, and Crocs, will eventually be tossed aside next season when something else "cool" is determined to be more consumable.

Makes me sick.
