Plowing?... Where?

Sure, it appears a plow has made a quick once over. So if I was either cheap or lazy I suppose I would do the same to my side walk, if I had one. However I think it is not only a courtesy to those walking on it to clear off your walkway but an obligation

Sure, it appears a plow has made a quick once over. So if I was either cheap or lazy I suppose I would do the same to my side walk, if I had one. However I think it is not only a courtesy to those walking on it to clear off your walkway but an obligation for the safety of others. I would hope someone would sue your lazy, inconsiderate or cheap ass if should they fall and crack their head open. Using this example as a parallel to snow plowing, why then do people make excuses for A) lack of funds to clean the roads and B) lazy plowers. BOTH are unacceptable and just because you have lived here for 25 years and it has always been that way does not make it right. Sitting in Starbucks yesterday I watched a young woman fall in the middle of Spring Garden Rd. I also watched as many slipped and nearly fell as I did crossing that road. I also watched cars spin their tires turning on to Spring Garden because of the inches of ice build up. These roads simply ARE NOT PLOWED ADEQUATELY for the safety of people. Can you imagine if say the hospital decided not to put up those orange signs on wet floors saying caution slippery floor because A) they can't afford them with the 7 million dollar cut or B) because the cleaner was too lazy. Do you honestly think this is acceptable behaviour for a city? I think more people should be outraged please call your MLA, write letters. Come on people. There are too many passive excuse makers here. That young woman who fell could easily have been hit by one of those cars spinning its wheels and sliding to a stop. Does someone need to die around here for a change to happen?
