Pedestrians, you are not immortal!
|
I hate hearing about pedestrian and road deaths, they are tragic but what's worse is that they can often be avoided.
I am sick of seeing pedestrians in this city think that those double white lines are like invisible walls that will stop a moving car dead in its tracks.
I was driving down Brunswick street today. Between Prince and Duke street I had to yield to two pedestrians that--without really paying attention to traffic walked across Brunswick street while MY light was still very much green, all within two blocks!
I hate bad, inconsiderate drivers who don't yield to pedestrians when they should, or are jerkoffs to cyclists. But pedestrians can be just as stupid and inconsiderate.
I'll never say that people deserve to die in crosswalks, but when pedestrians are so bold, reckless and arrogant to think they can just walk out when the white "walk" isn't flashing, because after all, "this isn't Toronto," are just asking for it.
