what's the difference?

I understand there's a law against talking on a cell phone while driving, because you're suppose to have both hands on the wheel, and have as few distractions as possible. HOWEVER, can someone PLEASE explain to me the difference between holding the phone

I understand there's a law against talking on a cell phone while driving, because you're suppose to have both hands on the wheel, and have as few distractions as possible. HOWEVER, can someone PLEASE explain to me the difference between holding the phone up to your ear vs. holding it in front of your face on speaker phone... thinking noone notices. Not to mention text messaging. That's almost 10 times worse then talking on the phone, because you have to be continuously looking at the screen to see if what you're typing actually makes sense. Please people, take a chance on the blue tooth, or even learn to be patient and wait until you're finished driving to use your phone. Winter has arrived... the snow and ice are dangerous enough. Lets not add to the list.
