Okay, I’m not from around here. I grew up in Western Canada where the advice on how to be a lady revolves around grace, beauty and all things sweet or nurturing (not to be confused with get-it-done business woman). I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder but, stereotypically speaking, a “bar whore” looks like a “bar whore” and for good reasons we agree upon as a society. Again, stereotypically speaking, a “trucker’s mouth” is just that. So…

Ladies of Nova Scotia, I’d like to understand how exuding masculine qualities like looking tougher than the rest of the girls, talking tougher than the rest and being physically more aggressive, intimidating or stronger than the rest is an appropriate endeavour for a lady? Some of you behave so badly, speak so harshly, are so quick to judge, are so controlling, the word grace will never ever be associated with you or “your kind.” Frankly, you’re an embarrassment to my gender. Unless you are appearing on an episode of Trailer Park Boys, are actually a “lady of the night”, a “bar whore” or a professional terrorist, you have no business calling yourself a lady.

Maybe this is why the gay pride movement is so strong in the East. It’s all these fucking she-males being bred right here in the HRM. Isn’t it time to raise the bar, girls? Not putting up with men’s shit doesn’t mean you should sound like one, look like one, act like one, spit like one, pile on gobs of black make-up or change your body for one… God help us, girls everywhere!
