Last summer I worked in a place with a lot of students and had to listen to the endless "partying" stories. How much you drank last night, all the older men who hit on you, the "ugly" (although probably decent) guy you convinced to buy you drinks and then treated like a stalker when he thought you'd actually lower yourself to hang out with him for one song. Any yes, I get it, you're ultra-scene and in control of your sexuality because you wake up in filthy coke-dens with no idea what happened or with who.

I thought all this would change when I took on a job in a more professional environment. Everyone is around 21-26 and it's the same lame conversation: what we drank where, how much of it, how much we spent, how much we puked, and how "hot" the guy/girl we fucked was.

I'm not a tightass, I enjoy drinking on a social level (and who hates sex?!), but why do I feel so alone because I want to settle down and think about my future at 24? I did my fair share of crazy shit, so it's not like I'm lacking life experience. Am I alone in the belief that there's something wrong with someone in their mid 20's who gets loaded drunk 4-5 times a week??

maybe it's me
