So sunday evening, around the waterfront area, nice weather, sun finally came out and the girlfriend and I decided to go for a stroll. We drove to downtown halifax, found a parking spot. another person had been waiting for that spot, then we realized there are 2 parking spots available. The car i drive is a hatchback VW. The car he drove was a ford taurus. The space he took up was his car with space for 2/3 of a car in either direction. I honk so he moves forward a bit so i can utilize the space he's practically invading. He moves a bit. I park. He starts backing up again! I 'm sitting there wondering what's wrong with this guy. So i honk again since it didn't look like he was going to stop and was about to back into me. He didn't like that so he made the effort to get out of his car, walk to my door, and start yapping, because he didn't have enough space and wanted to park legally. Space between him and the car in front of him was about 1.5 metres, which is about 5 feet. I left him 2 feet of space behind him and he wasn't satisfied. He kept on yapping, regardless to the fact that i pointed out that he's well within the comfort zone of his meter space, parked legally since meters are free on weekends and after 6pm in most areas, and not to mention that i pointed out that he has more than enough space to do whatever he please. I kept walking, and he wouldn't stop talking.

Today, around 1pm, at the Bedford waterfront. I'm standing behind my car, in a parking lot that has about 4 cars in it, but spaces for more than 25 cars. This moron decided to do what, of all spaces available, park his car right next to mine, while i'm taking the blanket out of the trunk, i'm well out of his way mind you, but that's not enough, i have to pull out the red carpet, for him to squeeze his car in that small spot, were he could have simply driven another 6 feet and pulled into a different spot, facing the water! He was literally sitting there waiting for me to get out of his way, in a 15% occupied parking lot, giving me dirty looks being impatient, because he decided to leave all the spaces that are available and just park there. There are several incidents regarding things like that around Nova Scotia, which i lost count of. But honestly, this leads me to believe that the NS hospitality is really a figment of people's imagination, since i have yet to experience that.
