Living where I do, it's very common to see Military Police officers on patrol in their cars, which I think is great considering the recent spikes in violence in our city. However, Is it really necessary for them to hold nearly bi-weekly sticker check roadblocks? I understand it's dangerous for uninspected and unsafe cars to be on the road, but don't you think all that extra idling waiting for one's turn just to be checked and waved through might not be in the best interest of the environment? And what really bothers me is the apparent importance placed on these sticker checks, when I've seen countless speeders race by the parked speeder-catcher, radar-clad police cars untouched! I'm tired of being stopped just to be given a smile and a wave on through; but I wouldn't be as tired or annoyed with it if I felt like priority was placed in the proper area, like dangerous drivers!
