I do not know if this is somewhat of a bothersome issue with others, or some sort of local pride, however it just bugs the fuck out of me. I am not Nova Scotian, my husband is, and we moved here some six months ago. I work in retail and have to listen to fucking "Somewheres", "I seen", "Or'dere", and other hickish types of slurs ALL DAMN DAY. It's called ANNUNCIATING. You can pronounce it if you try, I promise. I'm sick of hearing how I don't say "Newfoundland" or even "car" the right way. Fuck. I love this place, but I hate how you all speak!
