I was just reading some of the bitches from a few months ago and the ones about the ignorant Yanks seriously annoyed me. I'm an American who has moved to Halifax because I prefer Canada to the States. I love it here and perhaps to the dismay of some of those bitchers, I'm staying. YES, there are ignorant obnoxious Americans just as there are ignorant obnoxious Canadians. Having lived in both countries long enough, I should know. Everyone I've met has been great to me and I've made a lot of friends here. One of the bitchers problems was that Americans expect US currency from Canadian ABMs. Sorry but before I came to Canada I didn't even expect places to take US money. I began working at a place where all of the American tourists from the ships would come in and some of them do ask ridiculous questions like that. Some of them are rude, some are dumb, some are friendly, some seem to have grey matter. Reading those comments I felt insulted as I love Canada and I always thought most Canadians were a bit more worldly and open-minded than to simply say things like "All Americans are assholes" or "all Ameicans are ignorant". Those of you who wrote those things are just as pompous and uneducated as those Americans you bitched about. Perhaps some of you forgot that Helen Hill was an American?
