Recently, I have been receiving a lot of applications for some well-paying jobs in marketing and sales fields. Supposedly well-educated people have submitted AWFUL coverletters filled with typos, grammatical errors and, worst of all, "text-type". Lower-case "i"'s, "u" instead of "you", and they seem to have no idea how to format a basic business letter to begin with!
Are universities just not teaching this? Do people seriously expect to be hired if they can't write basic english (and these are local kids we're talking about). WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?!? Put effort in if you want a job!
