I work in an office at Dalhousie overlooking LeMarchant St, across from where the Metro buses park to wait until for their departure times. May I ask why these buses continually insist on keeping their loud engines running while they are parked there for up to 15 minutes at a time? The idling engines are extremely distracting. They are directly outside my window, which it's way too hot out to close, and they go on all day long!! Not to mention the fuel being burned at the expense of both taxpayers and the environment. I've sent emails to Metro Transit about this, but I've never received a reply.

(I do appreciate the campus bus service, and it's true that some drivers are courteous and conscientious enough to turn off their engines...)

Anyway, here's to the driver of the #10 Bus (vehicle 971), idling away on Tuesday evening at 7:50, whose very loud engine I am listening to as I write this.

Bus Noise Crazy...
