Do Unto Others
|
I just wanted to send a huge thank you out to a local pair of folks working in tandem with a large, global oganization, to develop the international recognition of video gaming as a sport. I was contracted to develop a website for this global tournament with a launch date of May 1st, and I was given $250 at the start of the project. What followed was a month of solid work, more than 10 hours a day, every day, totaling more than 250 hours of planning, design and development. The website was launched on time (Monday, May 1st, 12:35am), and a full French version of the site was launched less than two days later. This contracted work amounts to well over $3,500 and for my effort and dedication, I received silence from them since the launch date. I haven't been able to contact either of these people—I have been ripped-off and ignored. My peers and family are considering taking action; thus forcing me to take measures to ensure I get paid for my work.
