Building doom

Midtown Tower hits the wall

Posted on Tue, Oct 24, 2006 at 2:06 PM

Nova Scotia's Court of Appeal made its ruling on the Midtown Tower case today, siding with the Utility and Review Board and against the 17-storey building's would-be developer. In short: Stick your skyscraper someplace else. (CBC has the story here.)

The decision clears the way for the URB to go ahead with the hearing about the United Gulf Development towers. (Here's some United Gulf background.)

Survey Asks

Atlantic Playland is now Atlantic Splash Adventure, featuring waterslides like the Bluenose Blaster and Bowl of Fundy. What other Nova Scotia-inspired attractions could the waterpark offer?

  • Sable Island Shipwreck
  • Bomb Cyclone
  • Historic Waveyard
  • Power Outage Plunge
  • Donair Dunk
