Tips are up to the customers discretion. Don't like that, get another fucking job. I worked for years in two different restaurants and didn't get a fucking nickel in tips because I wasn't the person who carried a plate of food 10 meters. The thing is, I believe that cabbie probably did assault her (based on his history). However what I believe, doesn't hold water in court. In court you need PROOF. Unfortunately, there is this matter of he said, she said. Perhaps she did consent, perhaps she didn't. I don't know, and neither does Lenehan. As he has said (however ineloquently) a drunk person can consent. If she was too drunk to recall details, than her testimony is flawed. Sorry.
In another perspective, a person with an Arab name was acquitted. That's a (depressing) victory for law and order over hearsay and prejudice. I wish I had a better response but we just can't convict of crimes because we are angry.
