Cut from the same cloth as England’s Chumbawamba or Gang of Four, Vancouver’s five-piece You Say Party! We Say Die! gets its politics across using the virulent infection of beat. Hit the Floor! begins with a slowly building choral overture, an aural sorbet that quickly turns a corner. The next 42 minutes is non-stop ass-kicking pop-rocking. Just try to stand still. The sweat will begin to soak through your clothing, seeping from your armpits and dripping from your forehead. Angular guitar and shrill vocals are driven faster by pounding drums and thumping bass and keyboards. YSP!WSD! leave you wanting more even as you catch your breath and clamour for a glass of water. And then there is a secret track.
