Year in Review: 2009 Theatre picks 

Two hundred words...too many terrific plays to mention. But here are a few highlights from 2009.

A Beautiful View Audiences loved Daniel MacIvor's funny and poignant take (pictured above) on love without limits.

Adult Entertainment A gritty script and some fearless actors made this Taboo production a true standout.

East of Berlin 2B Theatre brought together a winning combination of thought-provoking writing and first-rate acting.

Extinction Song Ron Pederson lit up the stage as a disturbed yet charming child.

Gravesavers A spunky heroine, a shipwreck and some friendly ghosts made this great entertainment for all ages.

Innocent Souls Three outstanding actors brought Sylvia Plath's words to life.

King's Theatre Society A smorgasbord of great theatre for dirt-cheap prices.

No Great Mischief A remarkable book became a remarkable play on Neptune's main stage.

Rain This memorable little work was creatively staged in the tiny Living Room Theatre.

Rockbound Allen Cole and Two Planks and a Passion Theatre came together to produce the high point of the 2009 theatre season.

Thom Pain Stewart Legere shone in this one-man show---and in Zuppa Theatre's musical Poor Boy, too.

Twelfth Night Luna/Sea's lovely ladies lit up the Christmas season with their gender-bending take on this Shakespearean favourite.

Queer Acts Festival A cornucopia of shows that made a great addition to Pride Week.
