We're the Millers | Arts & Culture | Halifax, Nova Scotia | THE COAST

This has been a drab, middling summer, little to recommend with even half a heart, and hardly anything has had a sense of humour of any kind. Well what a delight We’re the Millers is, this complete margarita of a movie that finds Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter pretending to be a family in order to bring back a bunch of weed from Mexico for Sudeikis’ boss (Ed Helms, in an inspired bit of anti-typecasting). On the way they meet the inevitable drug lord, have a run-in with a tarantula, Aniston strips for no good reason (she’s playing a stripper, but…sigh) and keep running into a folksy couple played by Nick Offerman and Kathryn Hahn, who would walk away with the movie were it not for a third-act introduction to Scottie P (Mark L. Young), a gangsta wannabe with NO RAGRETS tattooed across his collarbone. It’s consistently LOL hilarious all the way through, and after this dreadfully straight-faced season, it’s nice to finally crack a smile.

We're the Millers is not showing in any theaters in the area.
