From this we learn that women in their 20's to 30's need to stop txting while crossing the road.
Maybe psychological counseling sbould be the first order of the day, considering that a lot of this just constitutes self mutilation.
The thing is: the number of cops who bend the rules and violate rights is about half. The other half are NOT good cops either or they would stand up and speak out. There needs to be civilian oversight (and not ex-cops) and there needs to be clear and harsh consequences. If a cop is found guilty of serious misconduct they should be fired. Period. The cop should be charged criminally and violating the rights of citizens should be a jail term every single time. Until this happens we have the police as a separate class of citizen above civilian citizens. Until this happens I regard every cop as probably violent and lawless for my own protection. By the way for those who will immediately jump in with the "hard job" defense, some of us were tasked with keeping the peace between heavily armed and poorly educated makeshift armies... we did it by the book and when we didn't we were punished.
