These Kids Wear Crowns are impossibly young and upbeat and they're coming to town tonight (Thursday, October 13, 6:45pm, $20, The Pavilion, 5816 Cogswell) to sling their emotional pop. But first, they stop by the Coast's Rat Room to answer the most pressing questions of the day.

Q: Who are you?
A: We are These Kids Wear Crowns. I am Alex. I am one of 6.

Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I do what I do because I love to do it. I love music. I love to dance. I love to entertain. This is something that involved all three. I love to hang with my friends and I love to party. I get to do this every night. No. It never gets old.

Q: Take us through a typical day.
A: I wake up. Maybe brush my teeth if I feel sanitary. Definitely floss. Eat a bowl of cereal, soy milk only. Play some Madden. Play some NHL—or "Chell" as we call it in my house. Play some Dead Island. Text Alan. Set up a time to meet. Shower. Make something to eat for luncheon. Walk over to Alan's. Talk about last night's happenings. Laugh. Cry. Begin writing something new or working on something old. Get jazzed. Get frustrated. Get joyous. Finish whatever it is we started more jazzed and frustrated then before I got there. Get home. Chat with Old Dirty Greenfield and Fade Away Jay—my roommates—and then sesh some more Chell, if we so incline. Make some dinner. Watch my TV shows. Head to bed. Dream big.

Q: What is your favourite snack?
A: Pizza!

Q: The Captain & Tennille or Soundgarden?
A: Soundgarden! One of the first CDs I owned and loved and learned all the lyrics to was Superunknown. I would sing to "Fell On Black Days," "Day I Tried To Live," "Black Hole Sun," "4th of July". Wow. It's all coming back to me. I think I'm gonna go find that CD now!

Q: Godspeed, Alex.
