The right Old Crow Medicine

Alt-rockers Old Crow Medicine Show are sold out for good reason.

The right Old Crow Medicine
Old Crow Medicine Show is finally touring the Atlantic region for the first time.

From dusty campfire sing-a-longs to local booze ridden cover bands, many a fan has crooned "Wagon Wheel" to drunk crowds around Halifax and for good reason, this song hits ya in the heart strings---it's like a marshmallow roasted to perfection in the s'more of bluegrass Americana nostalgia. Apparently Bob Dylan wrote the song...well, we can't confirm that, but sources say Old Crow Medicine Show put the money where his mouth was. The band that got its start busking the streets of New York state, and worked its way up to four albums---the newest being Carry Me Back---is finally touring the Atlantic region for the first time and the alt-rockers' high-energy banjo beating is exactly what that old-timey snake doctor ordered. The Halifax show is sold out and you're probably going to be celebrating The Coast's big 2-0 at the Waterfront Warehouse anyway, so fear not the wrath of rock-show regrets, and take a roadie to the Apple Blossom Festival in Wolfville on June 1 instead.

Saturday, June 1, Convocation Hall, Acadia University, Wolfville, 8pm
