Graham Percy does a memorable turn as the gravely conflicted John Proctor and he is well-matched by Kathryn MacLellan as his straight-laced wife Elisabeth. Katie Swift is perfect as the sharp and scheming Abigail and Emma Slipp simply shines as the simple, easily swayed Mary. Prepare to be moved and disturbed by this 50-year-old tale of intolerance, corruption and vengeance. And even if you’ve seen The Crucible before, you’ve never seen it produced by Two Planks and a Passion. It’s theatre that you don’t want to miss. –Kate Watson
