Solterre Design

Setting itself apart as the only architectural firm in Nova Scotia working exclusively with environmental projects, Solterre aims to build better instead of bigger. Projects are guided from the design phase through to construction to achieve LEED certification. A team of designers create energy efficient and environmentally friendly residential and small commercial buildings, custom suited to the clients’ needs. Current LEED projects in HRM include the Halifax Main Library, the Dartmouth Bridge Terminal, the Grainary Loft Apartments and the Saint Mary’s University Atrium building. Current design projects include the Valley Waste Resource Management administration offices, designed to a world leading “Passive House” energy efficiency standard and targeting LEED certification, as well as an off-grid, Passive House standard concept cottage.
