Ship's Company Summer Theatre: The Net

A taut and suspenseful thriller centered on a wealthy New Brunswick family will rock your boat.

new review Ship's Company Summer Theatre: The Net If you've never ventured out to Parrsboro to take in a show at the Ship's Company Theatre, I can't think of a better lure than Marcel-Romain Theriault's The Net. This taut and suspenseful thriller centres on a wealthy New Brunswick family that made its fortune in the crab fishery. Michael Chiasson is brilliant as the family patriarch Anthime, an old-school businessman who believes that the line of succession extends directly from oldest son to oldest son. Wally MacKinnon gives an award-deserving performance as Leo, the overlooked second son. Douglas MacAuley is utterly believable as the idealistic grandson who wants nothing to do with his greedy family. Fine performances combined with the dark machinations of this deeply disturbed family make for entertainment that will rock your boat.
