Return to Nova Scotia

Peter Winkworth spent most of his life amassing rare pieces of Canadiana, resulting in what the AGNS estimates to be “what is likely the most extensive private collection of this material ever assembled.” When his widow, Franca Winkworth, passed away in 2015, the collection fragmented, with many pieces leaving the province. Now, it’s a homecoming of sorts, with art like a rare French-period painting of a Mi’kmaw family returning to Nova Scotia once more.
