If Mason doesn't want to hear from white members of his constituency then he is practicing a form of racism. Imagine the SJW outcry if, say, Steve Adams said he didn't want to hear from black folks he represented. Unbelievable.
Our out-to-lunch "progressive" Council has 3 more years to totally mess things up even worse. Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride with these idiots.
The criticism from the usual suspects is dead wrong. This facility will serve residents from the growing western and southern suburbs of HRM who currently have to battle our inadequate street network to get to the south end and then try to find parking. The argument that nobody will go there is belied by the massive crowds found in Bayers Lake every day. Sick people do not generally walk of bike to the hospital.
I try to be succinct. ;)
You want details? OK. The first observation is that you don't like those on the conservative side of the aisle, and you don't like Council veterans. That should have nothing to do with their report card rating unless it is also Jacob Boon's party guest list. New arrivals like Smith and Blackburn can only be given an "Incomplete" score since they have done next to nothing to distinguish themselves. Zurawski has already had time to show that he is a disaster-in-waiting and thankfully your rating reflects that. Cleary, though, is showing that he is not too far behind as shown by his beating the dead Cornwallis horse again. That alone should get him an F rating. Meanwhile, Mason, Austin and Craig are waving their orange "progressive" flags to your squeals of delight despite totally missing what the role of HRM and Council is supposed to be. It is not about social causes while ignoring the basics of infrastructure and creating and environment for economic growth. They seem to fight tooth and nail against those things.
Sheer lunacy. Do all municipal poet laureates have to be left-wing activists? Do not waste any more time on this. Cornwallis was far from perfect but he founded this fair city, and any sins he may have committed were repeated on all sides.
Well, Karsten was probably on the selection committee along with Savage and a few other councillors, so they are not going to want to admit they made a mistake.
If these allegations have some truth to them, not only should Dube go, but the headhunting firm needs to be dropped from working for HRM ever again if they can miss something like this in a candidate's character.
Most of the things that the councillors get excoriated for in this article are things that should be done/said, while the things they get compliments for are generally the things that Council should forget about. So in other words, a typical Jacob Boon council article.
