manages to combine the frantic play of Super Smash Bros.
and the strategic combos of Street Fighter
, but not all that successfully. The frantic play is destroyed by few arenas that allow ring outs, leaving all the kills to super moves; in turn this makes the combo system between supers seem like a waste of time. To SuperBot’s credit they did manage to make all twenty strong characters correctly and enable them to attack with moves you would see from their respective games. The game as a whole feels like a missed opportunity. Sony manages to bring their fans spotty hit detection, iffy controls and a cast of characters lacking notable characters (I’m looking at you, Crash Bandicoot). If you want frantic fun with three friends, get out the N64.
If you are looking for a merely OK game to play, this is it.
