One of Halifax's most recognizable characters, Pete Luckett---and his staff---know produce, and they're are happy to share that wisdom with you. The original Bedford location reflects the ambiance of Victoria market, a reminder from Luckett's hometown Nottingham, but with a distinctive international flair. Two locations:

Whenever I visit one of Pete's locations I'm usually met by the same greeting...
wonderful displays of fresh produce, interesting potteries, or delicious (and intriguing!) foods.
I try to go here as often as possible to purchase my produce--especially fruits and vegetables! Unlike the stuff I get from the grocery stores, my fruit is bruise free and always a fresh, wonderful colour. The staff are all kind and Pete himself (Can you believe I used to think he wasn't a real person?) is very knowledgeable and funny.
But my absolute favourite thing here is the FOOD.
Pete's "On the go" Deli/lunch stations are DELICIOUS...I never cease to be impressed by the sheer freshness, taste and overall quality of the food. I find myself ordering a "grilled veggie" almost every time I go in there--simply wonderful! I also get a side salad, which is a VERY decent sized box stuffed to the brim with all of my favourite (and, again, fresh) fixings. The prices are very decent considering the food you're getting, I have yet to be disappointed.
Live in west end Halifax and it only takes 10-15min to get to Pete's in Bedford.
Easier than going downtown and trying to park.
Fruits and vegetables are the freshest I have ever had. Love shopping there, and you can usually find whatever you are looking for.
Pete's is wonderful. If you haven't tried the panini sandwiches here, you are missing out. The Greek Lamb is FANTASTIC... also a great salad bar with a seemingly infinite number of options. An excellent lunch option.
I was looking for the survey mentioned on today's receipt but could not find it! I'd love to win $100.00! However, today's experience was as it always is - FANTASTIC! Would love to see you bringing in some over-the-counter medications though Pete from Britain! I absolutely cannot manage without TCP; Dispirin Tablets; Kolanticon and many other items one has to ask visitors to bring over or await the chance to make a visit home in order to get them. Would love to know if you are prohibited from doing that.
