To the editor,
I'm writing about the return of the nighttime ban on winter parking in HRM, imposed by traffic authority Ken Reashor.
Being the only city in North America to have a steady and total winter parking ban in place and an enforcer looking to ticket and tow your car on a snow-free day (day one of this year's ban: no snow, lots of tickets) who asks nobody and answers to nobody, says an awful lot about this draconian town! I wanna get a look at the guy in charge. I'll bet he was born with the required driving mentality for his job in 19-fucking-50.
This must be the same person who didn't time the downtown traffic signals to ensure a no-stop pass through the downtown area--- if you're scratching your head, consider yourself painfully Haligonian.
This is right up there with the "brilliance" employed in the "solution" to the "problem" with the Cobequid Pass. Imagine what would happen in central BC if the solution to the problems of having to steadily remove snow from well-travelled highways with two or more fairly steep and long hills on them was to simply invest in a couple of signs and close the fucker! Entirely unacceptable! FYI: The snowplow and the city and the region knew the storm was coming, yet nobody saw a snowplow until a foot of snow covered the highway. We pay these people with our tax dollars to manage our highways and keep them open, not closed!
Halifax is not exceptional in North America when it comes to snow on highways, but it has the most driver/taxpayer-unfriendly policy in the whole of the land. What is wrong with you people?
