Once upon a winter

Lindsay Duncan and Rebecca Taussig put together a wedding style shoot that’ll warm your heart in any season.

When all of the snow that buried us in winter 2015 finally melted, this set of photos was one of the beautiful things that surfaced. A collaboration between photographer Lindsay Duncan and owner/curator at The Strong House, Rebecca Taussig, this styled shoot brought together local, indie wedding vendors—and real-life couple Rebecca Rose and Jillian Stagg—to tell Loving Off The Land, the fictional story of a woodsy elopement. Inspired by the craftspeople behind these local businesses and beautiful Canadian winters, Duncan and Taussig created a snowy scene sure to inspire local couples planning their own day. “When we were dreaming of this shoot it was already late February, and weren’t sure we could pull it off. However, one benefit of the 2015 winter was it was the winter that wouldn’t end,” says Duncan. “Come late March we were blessed with six feet of snow! We loaded up a team of six on snow shoes at Windhorse Farm and off we went!”
