Olympic media rant: Advertising on CBC

With CBC being the sole source of live coverage for those of us who don't have cable, and their live feed being dodgy at best, it'd really be nice if there weren't 20 minutes of McCommercials at the beginning of each live feed. You can't really fast-forward them, and they're almost insulting in their irrelevance. Is juice-tinting Crystal Light really an important part of any athlete's olympic experience? Is the putrid amount of aspartame really a boost to human performance? RBC puts a ton of money into Canadian Olympians, supposedly. Do I need CBC to tell me this 908,234 times in barely two weeks to remind me that I hate paying $9 a month in pointless bank fees? Do they need to force-feed me Air Canada's diatribe about how great an airline they are, when I know that the cramped seats and unfriendly service are an inevitable part of my Christmas every year? I know CBC needs to make a fortune to pay for the massive coverage they're giving the Olympics. I just wish I didn't have to waste my time watching it when all I want to watch is athletes and action, not a girl in a red dress singing about juice mix.
