A little me-time never hurt anyone. Olenka Krakus (of Olenka and the Autumn Lovers) left her Lovers behind for this jaunt to the east coast, during which she played Sackville's Stereophonic Festival, among other dates before heading to Halifax for In the Dead of Winter. "I take a lot of care with the lyrics, I've been studying literature for a long time, one of the things I kind of look forward to is how people react to the lyrics because they become more prominent when it's just a voice and a guitar." Having sworn off winter driving she's made her way around via the train, taking in the scenery as she goes. "It's a perfect time for reflection, this season kind of forces you to be indoors and sort of have more solitary time...I seldom have the opportunity to sit and read or sit and think." Next stop? She'll play her way back to Ontario where she'll get to arranging some of songs that are waiting in the wings.
