This weekend, Trrrash welcomes you to openly gawk at a couple's first date. Go ahead, stare, laugh out loud, squirm in your seat... you won't be alone. Adam Szykowicz's Nerve is a dark comedy of the uncomfortably real kind, it follows Elliot and Susan on their very first date leaving the audience to find out whether their online connection translates in to real life. Ian Mullan and Kathryn McCormack team up as the brave young couple with Shakespeare by the Sea's Jesse MacLean leading the way as the director. And it gets even more realistic---Nerve sets its unconventional stage at Tribeca's lower bar. "It's really a window into a first date," says MacLean pointing out this opportunity for socially acceptable eavesdropping. "It's always exciting when you're in a room that isn't traditionally used for theatre and a play breaks out." So people watchers, you curious types and theatre lovers---this is your chance to creep without being a creeper and see some really entertaining theatre, too. And if you've got an awkward first date pending...this might just be the perfect spot to cut the tension.

November 17-19, Tribeca Bistro Bar, 1588 Granville Street, $10,, 7pm
