Nancy Sievert

Candidate, District 10

Email: [email protected] Website: Telephone: 452-9197

About

Nancy has run Kirnan Accounting Solutions, an accounting services business, for the past 16 years. She is a Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor. That's a type of accounting and bookkeeping software. She also works as a business advisor for the Centre for Women in Business at Mount Saint Vincent. She is a dog lover and an "initial member of the Atlantic SuperDogs."

Goals and Issues

Traffic is an issue. The Fairview overpass is an issue. She wants more collaboration between City Hall and D10 constituents. She wants to be an accessible councillor. She wants a new ice rink for the district and thinks there needs to be a long term development plan for the area. Moreover, people want to see more tax accountability; in her handout to Clayton Parkers, she says the area "provides a disproportionate portion of the tax base in HRM."

On the record

Nancy says she will "see the big picture and to dream big."

Affiliations

"I believe in choosing the right candidate to represent your area, whether it is a municipal, provincial, or federal election, regardless of political affiliation." In other words, she won't reveal her affiliation or who she votes for. Otherwise, it looks as if Nancy has been quite busy. She is Member of Disciplinary Committee for Fairview Junior High; Treasurer of the Rockingham PTA, President of the Halifax West Chapter of Canadian Parents for French; and Co-Chair with Diana Whalen of Clayton Park West Homeowner's Association. She is the past Controller of several companies and a former member of the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra.
