It's the 12th season for suddenlyLISTEN, Halifax's masters of improvisation and lovers of collaboration, and they're kicking off their series of performances on a surreal note. sL's own Norman Adams and Lukas Pearse will join forces with the Berlin-based Reidemeister Move (a twosome featuring Christopher Williams on contrabass and Robin Hayward on tuba). Together, the four will perform a Reidemeister original, "Arcanum 17," a multi-media composition based on its namesake, a book by surrealist writer Andre Breton. "I think this will be real minimalism," says Adams of the collaboration. "A journey the listener can make by closing her eyes and becoming enveloped in the sound!"
Mon Sep 17, The Bus Stop Theatre, 2203 Gottingen Street, 7pm, $15/$20
