Shannon Hardy wrote about the lack of enforcement of the no-smoking rules around transit terminals... right on! Lately, when I'm waiting for a bus at the Mumford Terminal, not only are the passengers standing around smoking - but the bus drivers as well!!!
What on EARTH is the point of having the rules if NOBODY plans to enforce them? And does Metro Transit seriously expect their passengers to butt out at the terminals when their own drivers don't?
Sunday morning, waiting for a bus, 2 women are smoking, talking about what considerate smokers they are (meanwhile, I can't go inside the bus shelter because of their smoke)... and when they're done, of course, they considerately toss their butts onto the street. Lit. Nice.
I really don't care if people choose to smoke - but I DON'T choose to smoke with them, not even second-hand, and it's infuriating to see that a rule seems to exist to address this but that Metro Transit isn't interested beyond how good it looks by posting the rule.
