Raised On Whipped Cream

Raised On Whipped Cream
(Columbia)
Killradio’s lyrics may make them sound like another one of those angsty juvenile rock bands; a closer listen reveals something entirely different, clearing up any mis- conceptions about the Los Angeles-based politi-rockers. Raised On Whipped Cream is a sarcastic outlook towards the political indifference exerted by much of today's youth; it also subtly exposes their own take on the truth. While their message is tongue-in-cheek, the quality of their songs is unmistakable. Though their conglomeration of funk, hard rock, punk and ska is difficult to genrify, Killradio’s songs mishmash the styles of Rage Against The Machine, Rancid, The Clash and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, which results in a most exciting album from start to finish.
