Karen & Grant | Married June 26, 2010

Grant MacEachern and Karen Fritz and were visiting family in Nova Scotia when he popped the question as they walked along their favourite beach. As the planning began two things were certain: the couple of 10 years wanted a short engagement and a wedding near the sea. After two trips east, the Toronto-based pair found the perfect location: three acres of ocean front property on the South Shore. “As we were planning a destination wedding, we wanted our guests to be treated to the full east coast experience,” says Karen, an avid surfer. Friends and family from across the country and beyond were welcomed with an afternoon of surfing, followed by a barbecue and were bid farewell with an afternoon tea the day after the wedding. A rustic barn on the coast was the backdrop, lobster, oysters and clam chowder added flavour and a local fiddler set the pace. Grant even traded his pants for a kilt as they celebrated in true kitchen party fashion, the perfect end to their Nova Scotian dream wedding.
