He's Just Not That Into You

Hollow and disingenuous but chock-a-block with Hollywood stars.

As if gaining dating advice was tantamount to cracking mathematical code, the women of He's Just Not That Into You learn to heed the signs of disinterest from the men in their lives and move on to greener pastures. Fair advice, but the ensemble cast never indicates any sense of growth or wisdom in their quest for a mate. What makes a good love story feel warm and true, and a lousy one, like this one, feel hollow and disingenuous? HJNIY is adapted from a bestselling book, chock-a-block with recognizable faces and has an intriguing premise, but the film is yet another example of Hollywood's propensity to patronize its intended market, not engage and entertain them.
