"The house I'm living at right now is a really beautiful property, and I've always pictured something like this happening there," says Klarka Weinwurm. "Just for the fun of it, really: music outside." She's talking about the Fish House Festival, a day-long event in her West Dublin backyard featuring a dozen bands including Willie Stratton, Ruth Minnikin, Construction and Destruction and Bad Vibrations beginning at 1pm. (The door price will go entirely to the bands, minus sound expenses.) The south shore is a mini-scene of culture---The Confidence Lodge is in the hood, Jay Crocker just moved in from out west and Weinwurm makes her home there. "We've got a cool kind of arts scene down here," says Weinwurm, who won't be playing because she's too busy organizing. "It's a beautiful place, and just having the people and the music is what keeps me here."
Saturday June 9, 11am-2am, 4369 Highway 331, West Dublin, $22/$25 ($12 after 10pm), Facebook Fish House Festival
