Dark for Dark 

The newest of new bands describes its sound as harmony-driven folk.

If the New Music Issue had a "newest band award," Dark for Dark would peacefully steal the title. Forming this spring, Dark for Dark includes drumming Jess Lewis, key-pounding Laura Peek and strumming Rebecca Zolokower. "I went to a cabin in the winter and songs just came to me," says Zolokower. "I asked the girls [to start a band] and they were into it." Zolokower writes with her mind in the '60s and describes their sound as harmony-driven folk. This fresh band's focus is to play shows and possibly record in late summer. "I'm really fortunate to work with such talented people, it's really exciting."
