Maybe being unlucky in love isn't such a bad thing. For singer-songwriter Dana Beeler, it was the fuel for the fiery lyrics that make up her seemingly sweet-sounding EP The Other Side of Love. But Beeler (also of Grassworks Bluegrass Band) isn't the type to throw a pity party. She delivers her heartbreak songs with a feisty tinge. "We win and we lose, and in the end we prevail and conquer," she says."I wrote most of the songs after the initial hurt, so if you listen closely, you can hear the sarcasm." This, her debut release, was a DIY mission, with Beeler recording at home (with mastering magic from Mark Pineo) and even shooting her own album art...and she hopes you can empathize with the collection of light-hearted and honest love songs. "I feel that anyone who's been scorned by love can relate to these songs though, put your own lost lover's name in front and you'll know what I'm talking about."
