the only flavorful vegetarian food in halifax.. i recommend it to everyone!
the masaman is something i dream about.. the cashew tofu is great and so is the basil tofu
the service isnt bad considering some of the other places in this city. this is probably the only restaurant in Halifax that I wouldn't shoot off about, nothing else compares!

Roro, wait until you have a chance to try it before you start worrying. Some of the reviews here are odd -- people give dives that I would not touch with a 10-foot pole glowing reviews, while good places get pooh-poohed. ChaBaa is excellent and I'm sure you will be pleased once you visit.

Moving back to Halifax and after reading the non-authentic comment I have to say, I am afraid of not having the authentic Thai I am used to hear in Vancouver. Sounds like I won't be getting any Tom Yum Gai :-((( Good thing I taught myself to make it.

I'm going to have to concur with the previous poster, and say that I'm not unbelievably impressed with any of the Thai options in Halifax, but this is still my favorite among those we do have... despite those absolutely hideous staff uniforms (bad enough that I might have to stick to take-out/delivery from now on).

The one thing that cannot be missed is the hot and sour soup... unbelievable. It's the sole reason we return as much as we do.

Not impressed with any of the thai restaurants in Halifax.
I've been here 3 times, and each time the food is either much too rich, sweet or salty.
The flavour is good, which is why most people like this place, but I feel there is too much basic condiments added to appeal to the North American tastebuds. The food doesn't have the aroma Thai food should have.
If you like authentic Thai food with lots of heat, good luck finding it in Halifax.
On a good note though, the service here is very good!
